These illustrations were developed to illustrate the communication material for the educational Descobrir at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Spawning from other projects I had, these are animals and objects working together to create poetry.

Bestial / Manimals
This book was commissioned by my fellow illustrator André Leiria to be part of one of the first books of his new publishing house Pato Lógico. The premisse was to make a wordless book, but I think I stretched the concept too much and the book was eventually out of the collection. Thankfully I got an opportunity to expand the illustrations and make several exhibitions throughout Europe with its characters. Some of these images were awarded by the society of illustrators of New York.
Cartas de Lisboa / Lisbon Letters
This project for the Lisboa City Hall was designed to revive and archive of letters that were sent since the XV century from several places in Lisbon. Each letter was addresses from a specific place near a train station where the illustrations were shown.
Flor
Screen-print for the Underdogs Gallery. This is 50x50 cm 12 color print, about an imaginary girl called Flor who has an adventure that starts with a rabbit in a hurry. Wait! Where do I know this story from?...
Cereja / Cherry
Saudade – Nespresso
These two illustrations were made for a promotional special launching package and poster for Nespresso. The theme was saudade and my idea was to convey the nostalgic atmosphere of sharing a cup of coffee with friends.
De sal a sal
This project was a collaboration with the Pepes Studio in my hometown Aveiro. It had a particularly pleasant twist as I had to work on an imaginarium that accompanied me since I was a child, walking around my city. From my memories of Aveiro, I cherish the swirl of the wind, the colours of the sky and the river the open space and two enigmatic figures on the bridge; the varina and the marnoto. Enigmatic because they represent a life that I don't know, I can only fantasize about. I think it must have been a hard, rough and restless life. However, dark, surrounded by water, softness and infinite shades of grey-blue-green that bring me an electric peace.
Play
This illustrations were commissioned to appear in posters for the Feltival Play, a cinema festival that is curated for children, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Gulbenkian Park
This job was part of a promotional campaign for Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian's cultural program. It was directed by the keen eyes of Jorge Silva from Silva Designers. The illustrations were used in a myriad of communication materials such as posters, muppies, flyers, books and web.
